ACAA - American Coal Ash Association
About
Coal combustion products are materials created when we burn coal to generate electricity. In 2007, the United States produced more than 125 million tons of CCPs, including fly ash, flue gas desulfurization (FGD) materials, bottom ash, boiler slag, and others. While 43 percent were used beneficially in 2007, nearly 70 million tons were disposed of. The American Coal Ash Association collects and analyzes these figures annually and releases the data in its CCP Production & Use Reports. [1]
