On March 15, 2005, Big West Oil LLC, completed a transaction to purchase Shell Oil Company’s refinery located in Bakersfield, California. The Bakersfield Refinery is located in California’s Central Valley and has the capacity to refine up to 70,000 barrels of crude oil per day. This refinery is supplied by crude oil produced in the San Joaquin Valley with its products marketed in California, and is a major provider of quality motor fuels in central California. This Bakersfield refinery employees over 200 workers.
Big West is a leader in the refining industry applying new technology to mature processes through our relationship with leading licensors. This practice is also employed with the Bakersfield Clean Fuels project. [1]
