Century Composites, LLC was established in 1989 by Dr. William Drury and Dr. Charles Li. Dr. Drury received his Doctorate in Materials Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, the same institution where Dr. Li received his Doctorate in Polymer Engineering. The company built its first manufacturing plant in 1992 to manufacture fiberglass products, that facility was expanded several times to include injection molding. In 2005 a new 165,000 sf facility was built for the injection molding operation. In 2008 the original plant was replaced with a second new facility of 185,000 sf, bringing the total production capabilities of the company to over 300,000 sf.
The company has mold making capabilities and an engineering staff at the plant as well as injection molding, hand lay-up fiberglass, and BMC capabilities.
The distribution arm has a major facility, as well as world headquarters, located in Tyrone, GA just southwest of the Atlanta airport. This location has over 110,000 sf of warehouse space at this location, as well as housing the company operations and management offices.The company also operates from a 3PL distribution center in Ontario, CA.
