A north arrow is located on a drawing to show the orientation of the layout relative to the northern direction. The north arrow is placed at top of drawing in the right hand corner and pointing toward top or right hand side of drawing.
The north arrow may be complemented with a plant north arrow which shows true north referenced to the northern direction of the facility.
