Branch connections are not just tee's and lateral's, they are also weldolets. Weldolets® are welded branch connections that are designed to match or exceed the schedule of the pipe used. Each is marked with an outlet size and the pipe sizes that it can be welded to. If stamped 5-3x3/4" it will have an outlet size of 3/4" and fit pipe sizes 3", 3 1/2", 4", 5" and having a maximum gap between the pipe and olet of 1/32" for the largest size.
Whatever your pipe size, an olet can be found to do the job. 4 inch and smaller are designed to fit numerous sizes of pipe, 5 inches and larger are designed for each specific size of pipe. A flat base is available for connecting to pipe caps and vessel heads.

Elbolet
An Elbolet® is used on 90° Long Radius Elbows, Short Radius Elbows and can be used on 180° returns. However, an Elbolet on a short radius elbow is not used often. Elbolets are often denoted on drawings as EOL. It typically is used for Thermowell and instrumentation connections but can be used as a drain connection when room isn't available for using a Weldolet. The Elbolet is available with buttweld, socketweld or threaded connections.
Sockolet
A Sockolet® is the same basic design as a "weldolet" or "threadolet" where the major difference is that a Sockolet has a socket for welding versus a buttweld connection that a Weldolet has. On drawings, a Sockolet is denoted as SOL. This makes a 90° branch and comes in full size or reducing for a straight piece of pipe. Sockolets are available in Class 3000, 6000 and 9000 for high pressures.
Threadolet
On drawings, a Threadolet® is denoted as TOL. A threadolet is the same basic design as a "weldolet." However the main difference is the fitting has a female threaded connection to mate to the branch connection. This makes a 90° branch and comes in full size or reducing for a straight piece of pipe. Typically, it is in the size range of 1/2" to 2" and is welded over a hole either drilled or burned in the pipe.
Weldolet
A Weldolet® is commonly known on drawings as a WOL and makes a 90° branch connection and - comes in full size or reducing for a straight piece of pipe. A weldolet is designated by the run length by the branch length. For example a 6-inch weldolet on a 10-inch pipe would be a 10x6 Weldolet. A weldolet is designed to minimize stress concentrations and provide integral reinforcement without the need for reinforcing the weld.
Specialty Olets
Brazolet
A Brazolet® is a fitting that resembles a Weldolet and is designed for use on KLM pipe (Specification ASTM_B88) and IPS Iron Pipe Size brass or copper tubing. It is available with socket or threaded connections.
Coupolet
A Coupolet® is a fitting that is designed for use in fire protection sprinkler systems and other low pressure piping applications. It is manufactured with NPT female threads for 300# service. The Couplets that are sold by Bonney Forge are UL listed and FM approved.
Expanded Olet
Flexolet
Insert Weldolet
Latrolet
Latrolets® are often denoted on drawings as LOL. A Latrolet is similar to a Weldolet that makes a 45° reducing branch on a straight run of pipe. End connections of a Latrolet can be buttwelded, socket welded or threaded.
Nipolet
Sweepolet
A Sweepolet® is almost like a pipe saddle but has been manufactured in such a way as to minimize pipe stresses and stress concentration factors. The weld is able to be inspected by typical weld inspection techniques such as radiography and ultrasound inspections.
