Where:

\(\large{ \sigma }\) (Greek symbol sigma) = stress in weld

\(\large{ M }\) = bending moment

\(\large{ h }\) = plate thickness

\(\large{ l }\) = length of welds

\(\large{ w }\) = width of bar
