Specific Heat of an Element

Specific heat of an element is a measure of how much heat energy is required to raise the temperature of a certain amount of the substance by a certain amount.  It's important to note that the specific heat of an element can vary with temperature, pressure, and other factors.  In tables and references, you may find specific heat values reported at standard conditions (typically 25°C and 1 atmosphere of pressure).

Specific heat is used in understanding the thermal properties of materials and is used in various scientific and engineering applications, including in the design of heating and cooling systems.
