Liquidity Index

on . Posted in Geotechnical Engineering

annual soil loss 2Liquidity index, abbreciated as \(l_l\), is the range of water content to the liquid limits.

Liquidity Index formula

\( l_l =  w - w_p \;/\; l_p  \)
Symbol English Metric
\( l_l \) = liquidity index \(dimensionless\)
\( w \)  = natural water content \(dimensionless\)
\( w_p \)  =  lower plastic limit (plastic limit) \(dimensionless\)
\( l_p \)  = plasticity index \(dimensionless\)
