Political science is the study of politics, government, and public affairs. It examines how power and authority are acquired, organized, exercised, and constrained within societies. The field encompasses the analysis of political institutions such as states, legislatures, executives, and courts. It also examines the behavior of political actors, including voters, leaders, and interest groups. In addition, it studies the processes through which public policies are formulated, implemented, and evaluated. Its scope also extends to the study of political ideologies, constitutions, law, and the interactions between domestic and international political systems.
